VEJA's latest offering is made from the softest leather sourced by VEJA – O.T. Leather (Organic Traced Leather), sourced from 100% organically certified farms in Uruguay. This type of leather undergoes a mechanical beating process that makes it fine and malleable. Tanned in Brazil, it uses fewer dyes than our conventional leather. VEJA sources this leather from the Uruguayan savannah, a region renowned for the quality of its leather and livestock.

From the Uruguayan Pampas, a region renowned for the quality of its leather and cattle breeding. The cattle from which O.T. leather is obtained do not come from deforested areas and are not exposed to pesticides, GMOs, chemical fertilizers, or antibiotics.

Suede is the back of leather, sanded to give it a soft and supple appearance. It comes from farms in Rio Grande do Sul and is tanned in Brazil without the use of hazardous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses dyes that comply with regulations and uses little water during the tanning process. This suede is then coated with PFC-free water-repellent oils to protect the shoes from light rain.

The suede is made from the underside of cowhide that is previously brushed to make it softer and more flexible. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul).
